PokerStars Backing Mexican Soccer

This development kinda gives me the chills (in a good way) …

CD Chivas has signed on PokerStars (dot net) as a major sponsor.
Here’s an example of some of the commercials they’re running in Mexico … this one featuring Omar Arellano:

[...] It’s becoming less and less of a secret that I get excited about most things soccer-y … and since moving to Nevada from Texas I really miss Mexicans. This PokerStars.net (of course NO ONE accidently goes to the “.com” site that just happens to be a gambling site) phenomenon has been going strong in the Land of Mullets.
When the 3rd or 4th game, replay, or soccer analysis show has finished on ESPN, ESPN+, or FOX SPORTS (I know it’s not TYC Sports.), PokerStars.net takes over with the North American Tour, or the Latin American Tour, or the European Tour.
Unfortunately they often turn down the actual sound of the chatter between players so we miss out on “Ya’ gotta a good hand? mmmm yeah? mmmmm” and other brilliant insight and strategy from the players because they don’t waste the time to have someone translate that drivel.
I’ve seen what the Mexicans will see (minus the pig flu & the earth quakes) and it is both mind numbing and addictive.
Maybe that’s their new tagline: PokerStars.net… mind numbingly addictive (or mente entumecidamente adictiva).
And look, they already have their female response to Phil Laak.
